Changi Airport Group
E-Kiosk
With their heavy reliance on transit areas, Changi Airport wishes to provide the same first-class travel experience in these spaces.
Ground research and interviews were conducted with transit passengers across various airport facilities and locations. As a result, the various and diverse needs across passenger demographics were captured. Usability, ergonomics, privacy and security of personal belongings were of particular importance when it came to internet access and kiosk usage.
After synthesising the collected data, a set of design concepts were mocked up as low-fidelity prototypes. The final design was derived from several rounds of testing with both staff and end-users. The new kiosk was rolled out across terminals 1,2, and 3.
The 3D double twist on the kiosk legs allows for luggage trolleys to be parked in front, fitting nicely under the display to keep personal belongings visible and secure. The kiosks are designed to be configured linearly or in clusters in larger lounge spaces. Furthermore, their touchscreen displays allow plenty of privacy and personal space for individuals or small groups to engage and surf the internet.
