Powerbank & Charger

RAVPower had approached Studio F. A. Porsche to collaborate on a one-time release special edition powerbank and charger.

The fact that Studio F. A. Porsche’s design DNA in has been replicated many times amongst portable devices in the market, the proposed design needs an innovative approach to material treatment and production with a premium touch.

Using the process of deep drawing, commonly used to produce daily products such as aluminium cans and metal bowls, a singular case can be created, keeping the design clean, with as few parts as possible. The idea was to give the powerbank a unified robust look, like an ingot, letting the material treatment be the focus of the design. The deep-drawn aluminium case was then satinised and laser engraved with the logo, and paired with black plastic and glass for the final design. A similar process with the same design language was then applied to the charger.
