M101 Skywheel Design Suites
The first of its kind in the world, the M101 SkyWheel with its two towers is a landmark designed to redefine the Kuala Lumpur skyline. It is a mixed development made up of SOFO units (small office flexible office), Planet Hollywood Hotel, a sky retail mall, Design Suites, a Ferris wheel, a future MRT station, and several swimming pools on top of the towers.
As the tower stands on what used to be a Malay village, traditional Malay patterns were applied in a modern way on the exterior, and interior of the tower as tribute.
Three signature elements help define the building: its red meridian stripes, the contrasting dark exterior, which sits on a pedestal that elevates the building and instils a sense of presence, and a Ferris wheel located atop the tower that consists of an LED mesh for advertising and graphics.
